A good story about friendship and heartache. Lots of language- so adult is best audience.

Abuelita's Secret
by Alma Flor Ada

This book was very cute and sweet. Because my family is Cuban, I enjoyed reading a story about my culture. The Abuelita in this story had a good secret and loved her family.

The Bear

This book was told in the form of a fable, and moves slowly but beautifully through daily life of the last two humans. The connection of the last two humans with nature and the animal kingdom is also told in a beautiful format, with humans and animals communicating, but not with language we use. I recommend it if you are not looking for a fast-paced novel.

Reminded me of something I read at five, no depth to characters or story, very dumb plot.
