This was an interesting take on what might have happened had Ursula defeated Ariel at the end of The Little Mermaid, instead of the other way around.

The Bear
by Andrew Krivak

View in Library Catalog

This book was told in the form of a fable, and moves slowly but beautifully through daily life of the last two humans. The connection of the last two humans with nature and the animal kingdom is also told in a beautiful format, with humans and animals communicating, but not with language we use. I recommend it if you are not looking for a fast-paced novel.

Abuelita's Secret
by Alma Flor Ada

This book was very cute and sweet. Because my family is Cuban, I enjoyed reading a story about my culture. The Abuelita in this story had a good secret and loved her family.
